The Outlook for ASEAN Integration

Tan Sri Dr. Munir Majid, President of the ASEAN Business Club, said efforts need to be redoubled in order to drive forward the ASEAN integration process if the potential of the single economy is to be realised. There are new developments that need to be factored into the ASEAN integration script which have not been adequately addressed including challenges emerging from digitisation of ASEAN and the rise of China and its pervasive ways.

Tan Sri Munir was featured as the main speaker for a roundtable titled, “The Outlook for ASEAN Integration” organised by the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF) in Singapore on 25 July 2017.

The discussion focused on the drivers and challenges of integration in ASEAN and the role integration can play in improving macroeconomic and financial stability.
